International Listings
Australia | India | U.S.A. | United States | US | AustraliaQueensland Rocketry Society Queensland Rocketry Society Inc. QLD, Australia Contact Name: Blake Nikolic Email: info@qldrocketry.com URL: http://www.qldrocketry.com
Queensland Rocketry Society was started in 2007 by five rocketry enthusiasts from around sourth east Queensland. This group of like-minded individuals wanted to create a club to lift rocketry in Queensland onwards and upwards.
In just over one short year, Queensland Rocketry Society had acheived many of the original goals set out during that first "round table" meeting, including, amongst others:
Monthly launches;;;;
Full public liability insurance;;;;
CASA approval to launch up to 5,000ft (approx. 1.5km);;;;
An incorporation association;;;;
A formal and internationally-recognised certification processes;;;;
Press coverage and support from local councils;;;; and
A strong membership base which is growing with each passing month.
In October 2008 the Queensland Rocketry Society was officially affiliated with the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA). Tripoli is the world’s premier association for high power rocketry enthusiasts. Tripoli knows us as Tripoli Queensland (TRA prefecture 131). The QRS abides by the Tripoli safety code for all matters related to high power rockets.
Our public launches are indisputably the largest in Australia, with over 300 spectators regularly coming along to experience the power and excitement of this great hobby. Spectators are able to get a close-up see how rockets work, and club members happily answering any questions. The club can even provide support and information to schools for rocket related programs for students. Contact the QRS via the details shown on the Contacts Page for further details.
A launch event with over 300 spectators turning up throughout the day!
Looking to the future, Queensland Rocketry Society plans to expand all aspects of rocketry, and to provide every member with the ability to participate in the hobby with the least amount of fuss and bother regardless of their preferences, be that small hobby rockets, large high-power rockets, strange rockets, composite or hybrid motors, and everything in between.
Finally, no one person makes up Queensland Rocketry Society. A club is only as strong as its members, so every member is valued equally and given every opportunity to assist the club in its future successes.
