The Hopi Hawks Rocket Club is for the 5th grade science classes at Hopi Elementary School. During the Astronomy and Space Sciences part of the curriculum we have a unit on rocketry. At the end of the unit, teams of four students build an Estes Flash rocket and design a payload section for a quail egg. We then launch the rockets, measure the altitude, and determine if the quail egg has returned safely to earth.

We offer:
- safe places to launch model rockets
- friendly and experienced members for help
- monthly meetings where we share construction techniques and ideas
- at least one launch per month, weather permitting
- a competition launch in June with events for rocketeers of all ages
- one of Canada`s longest running HPR launches, Sullivan Lake, in southern Alberta.
